Statement
I create distinctive sculptures in a variety of different media, to compare and contrast broad interconnected themes connected with the idea of movement in its widest sense and to create a perception of motion.
Although ideas are drawn initially from the use of the moving figure, I work hard to eliminate a literal depiction. I try to encapsulate a combination of movements rather than just a static pose though the sculptures are not themselves kinetic. The final sculptures are abstract and bear little resemblance to the original source.
Making and physically manipulating material is at the forefront of my sculptural activity.
I work alone concentrating on small / medium scale sculpture suitable for gallery and domestic settings. I enjoy regular teaching commitments in central London
