Statement
Angela Carter
With 40 years of potting experience I still feel my roots come from the English country pottery tradition.
I have always worked on a kick wheel with red earthenware clay and coloured slips, the vibrance of which is brought out by the contrast of burnishing versus a transparent glaze. The burnishing maintains the true colour of the slip while the glaze changes it sometimes unrecognisably.
Milland Pottery has a small showroom where pots are permanently displayed.
I am a member of the exhibiting group, the Hampshire Artists Cooperative
