Statement

Oliver Hellowell is a young man who has dreamt of becoming a professional Landscape and Wildlife Photographer.

Nothing unusual about that you might think, but Oliver has a little extra which brings greater meaning, achievement and interest to his work and images – Oliver happens to have Down Syndrome.

Born in Somerset in 1996 and now living in the Blackdown Hills, Oliver brings a fresh and unique perspective to photography. Oliver published the first ever book of photography by a person with Down Syndrome and now has three books under his belt.

In 2015 he won the National Diversity Award for UK Positive Role Model for Disability and in 2018 was commissioned by Tennessee Tourism to capture the Smokey Mountains in his own unique style. He enjoys well over  60,000 followers on facebook and sells prints and books to fans across the globe.
