Statement
Royal College of Art graduate Sadie Tierney works in a tradition of painter/ printmakers who explore objects and places where form is linked to emotion, metaphor and movement. Tierney uses drawings made in situ to inform the vibrant and expressive prints and paintings. Previous solo exhibitions include Rabley Gallery, Flowers East Gallery, and Eton College. Born in London, she now lives in Southsea and works from Hotwalls Studios at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbour, with beach access for drawing. The paintings she will be showing in 8 at the Edge were made as part of a residency in Jersey, Channel Islands.
Public Collections include Gdańsk Museum (Poland), The Bronx Museum of the Arts (New York), Eton College, Royal College of Art, The Royal Navy, Baker & MacKenzie and Clifford Chance as well as private collections in Europe, Hong Kong, South America and USA, Russia and China.
Previous teaching/ lecturing posts include Eton College, Glasgow School of Art, Lincoln University and Swindon College.
